BRONZE CLINIC

Instructors: Ryan Zeltner and Libby Treu
Fridays 5:45-6:15pm

This program is designed for the skater who is working on Pre-Preliminary moves through Pre-Juvenile moves.

The clinic focuses on learning stroking techniques, developing power, and improving edge quality. The clinic also focuses on jumping basics, as the jumps that one learns at the lower levels of skating have the same fundamentals as the jumps one sees at the Olympics. In addition to learning techniques, skaters learn how to become aware of other skaters on the ice, how to work together in a group, and general ice etiquette. It is suggested that skaters repeat this clinic across multiple seasons until they have passed their Pre-Juvenile moves test.

About the Instructors:
LIBBY TREU has been coaching for 10 years and skating for almost 30. She holds a senior rating in freestyle instruction and a certified rating in moves in the field instruction.

RYAN ZELTNER has been coaching at Thornton Park for the past 15 years. During that time, she has worked as a private lesson and Learn to Skate Instructor as well as an ice show choreographer. Most recently, Ryan has served as the Learn to Skate Coordinator for the City of Shaker Heights, and is the current Ice Show Coordinator. She holds a Masters degree in Education and taught grades five through eight over the course of her teaching career.
